What is Anterior Colporrhaphy?

Anterior Colporrhaphy is a surgical procedure to repair the weakened front vaginal wall, which supports the bladder. It is recommended for women who experience:

• Bladder prolapse (cystocele), causing discomfort, pressure, or a bulging sensation in the vagina.
• Urinary incontinence or frequent urination due to lack of bladder support.
• Pelvic pain or difficulty emptying the bladder caused by vaginal wall weakness.
• Post-childbirth pelvic floor weakness leading to vaginal laxity or functional issues.

How is the Procedure Performed?

• A small incision is made inside the vaginal wall.
• The weakened vaginal tissue is tightened and reinforced using sutures.
• If necessary, additional support materials may be used to strengthen the repair.
• The procedure is performed under regional or general anesthesia, with a short hospital stay for monitoring.
