What is Arthroscopic Shoulder Decompression?

This procedure is performed to remove pressure from the shoulder joint by clearing space under the acromion (part of the shoulder blade). It is recommended for patients experiencing:

• Shoulder impingement syndrome causing pain and stiffness.
• Chronic inflammation due to bursitis or tendonitis.
• Pain when lifting the arm overhead or performing daily activities.
• Restricted shoulder movement not improving with physiotherapy.

How is the Procedure Performed?

• The procedure is performed under general anesthesia.
• A small camera (arthroscope) is inserted into the shoulder joint for visualization.
• Bone spurs and inflamed tissue are removed to create more space for movement.
• The procedure is minimally invasive, allowing for faster recovery.
• Most patients require physical therapy to restore full shoulder function.
